ENThe monograph is dedicated for the life and work of famous Lithuanian architect, scenographer, painter and pedagogue Vladimiras Dubeneckis. He was the pioneer of Lithuanian "National Style" and the modernity in architecture, interior design and scenery projects in the National Theatre in Kaunas. After the artist's death in 1932 different Lithuanian authors wrote a lot about the architect's life and works. However V. Dubeneckis' creative heritage was never examined as a unit, since his projects, scetches, pictures and historical documentation were (are) scattered in the different obscury chests of Lithuanian national archives. Although it was sumptionally recognized for many yar, that V. Dubeneckis had realized a lot of projects, his life and work was not examined in detail. The huge cultural heritage usually used to be described in few sentences with a limit of the most famous and most visible buildings till today standing in the centre of Kaunas city: "Ragutis" factory's apartment house, Art School, reconstruction of the State Theatre building, Daugirdas' apartment house, Faculty of Medicine of Vytautas Magnus university and Vytautas the Great Museum. The material collected in this book aims to reveal not only the well known objects but also those objects, that were ignored up till now. The research proves that although V. Dubeneckis' life was short - he died 44 years-old, having spent in Lithuania only the period of 12 years - his creative activity in Lithuania was highly intense and important. [...]. [Extract, p. 236]
