Summary / Abstract:

Kiekybiniame tyrime dalyvavo 152 respondentai: gydytojai, slaugytojai, laborantai. Pasirinktas netikimybinis tiriamų grupių parinkimo būdas – atsitiktinis. Tyrimo instrumentas – anoniminė (bevardė) anketa, kurioje pateiktais teiginiais siekiama nustatyti inovacijų diegimo padėtį ir proceso tobulinimo poreikį. Tyrimas atliktas privačioje sveikatos priežiūros įstaigoje Klaipėdos mieste. Nustatyta, kad tirtoje sveikatos priežiūros įstaigoje būtina tobulinti inovacijų diegimo (3-ias žingsnis) idėjų pateikimą ir įgyvendinimo kontrolę (8-as žingsnis). Įstaiga turėtų skatinti darbuotojų įsitraukimą į inovacijų diegimo procesą, didinti jų motyvaciją, tobulinti inovacijų diegimo kontrolės formą, tai drausmintų darbuotojų veiklą. Nuolat tobulinami inovacijų diegimo žingsniai suteikia daugiau galimybių įstaigai stebėti savo inovacinę veiklą, įvertinti pranašumus ir trūkumus, laiku atlikti koregavimo veiksmus. Tai lemia inovatyvią, efektyvią, kokybišką įstaigos veiklą. [Iš leidinio]

ENImprovement of innovation installation steps is a continuous active process in which new ideas for innovation are properly selected, their efficiency is evaluated, and appropriate installation decisions are made properly monitoring their execution. Continuous improvement of innovation installation steps in health care institutions offers more opportunities to monitor innovation and to identify advantages and disadvantages of its deployment in a timely manner. Moreover, it encourages companies to direct their activity towards innovative, efficient and high-quality activities that will provide incentives or opportunities to effectively innovate thus increasing the institution’s competitiveness. The article demonstrates that Lithuania does not have a clear strategy of health policy, i.e., there is insufficient understanding of what medical equipment and with what technical parameters is needed in health care institutions. Health care staff is not sufficiently involved in the process of innovation in their working facilities. Most of them lack understanding of many issues. Why to install innovation? What will be the result of innovation installation? What changes it will have on each employee’s activity? Yet it means that innovation installation steps in health care institutions are not sufficiently described, analysed, discussed and explored. The purpose of this study is to describe the steps taken when innovating and identifying the opinion of the healthcare staff about the need for improvement of innovation installation steps. In a quantitative study, which was carried out in September–October 2017, 152 respondents (doctors, nurses, lab assistants) were selected using the non-probabilistic random sampling of the subject groups. The research instrument was an anonymous questionnaire. The questionnaire was made based on the theoretical part. The questionnaire consisted of 9 blocks.Eight blocks describe innovation installation steps. Each block has 7 statements. The statements were divided into two groups: the current state of affairs (4 statements) and the need for improvement (3 statements). The ninth block was designed to find out the sociodemographic data of respondents. There are no statistically significant differences in the respondents’ assessment of innovation installation steps according to gender, age and education. But it has been determined that there are two steps to be taken in terms of occupation in a health care institution. This is the third step to be improved – the introduction of new ideas for innovation installation. It means that the institution fails to make use of many sources (employees, consumers, suppliers, consultants, clients, etc.) as a continuous flow of new ideas. Without new proposals, knowledge and skills in innovation installation, the institution will not be able to withstand competition challenges. Next, the eighth step to be improved is control of innovation installation. Occupation has a statistically significant influence on the assessment of innovation control. The assessment of doctors is higher than that of nurses and lab assistants. Doctors focus on the need to improve the punitive procedures of the responsible persons. Nurses focus on the need to improve (lower) the burden of the administrative work, which would allow them to have more resources when understanding the terms of innovation installation. However, lab assistants hold the point that nothing will change if control is tightened. In order to change the current situation, it is necessary to improve the procedures for innovation control that would improve the situation of innovation installation. It can be argued that innovation for all participants of the research is important to ensure the high-quality of their work. The results obtained from this study should not be considered only as a minor improvement in the innovation installation steps, for proper decision-making and implementation depends on these steps. The institution needs to foster creativity of its staff by enhancing motivation and creating new forms of innovation control that will discipline employees’ activities. Institutions need long-term programmes which would integrate all members involved in the installation of innovation, i.e. to include them in appropriate tasks. Moreover, complex solutions are needed, a very important part of which is increasing the effectiveness of innovation installation steps. It is necessary to foster the search for innovations and their deployment as it will provide incentives and opportunities for the effective development of innovation thus increasing institutions’ competitiveness.
