ENIn each successful organization, the manager’s and employee’s ability to understand each other and to work together in a team is very important. At present, the emphasis and consideration of a new term ‘empowerment’ is being increasingly promoted. The term refers to the manager’s actions towards the employee seeking to successfully achieve the goals of an organization. The scientific problem in the article is addressed as: What kind of leadership style and manager’s impact on employees, as well as behavioural model can ensure more efficient human resources empowerment? Based on theoretical aspects of the role of managers in empowering human resources, there has been set a goal in the article to create a model for management of employees that would promote effective empowerment in an organization. The subject of the article is the role of managers in empowerment of human resources. To achieve that goal, the following tasks have been formulated: to describe the concept of human resources empowerment, its usage environment and typology; to guide the organization in the context; to evaluate the role of managers in empowerment of human resources; to determine the style of leadership, impact on employees and a behavioural model that would ensure more efficient employee empowerment. Research methods applied in the article were: systematic, comparative analysis of scientific literature, a questionnaire survey, statistical analysis, and SPSS analysis. Based on scientific sources, the article reveals the concept and essence of leadership and analyses theoretical aspects of leadership. Analysis of the importance of human resources in the organization describes the scope and typology of the concept of human resources empowerment. The authors conducted research on the leader’s role in human resources empowerment in the organization. The research has shown that the role of managers in empowering human resources is evident. Respondents highlighted the importance of leadership in an organization as well as leadership style of an organization. It has been shown that employees feel more comfortable and more motivated when a leader has liberal or cooperative leadership style and a behavioural pattern typical of these styles. It was observed that charismatic leadership style is empowering as well as features of empowerment. The survey showed that respondents only partially perceive the concept of empowerment and it differs from motivation. To increase the efficiency of human resources empowerment, it is purposeful to supplement the education of employees and executives by implementing certain measures. Having analysed and evaluated theoretical possibilities for enhancing the empowerment process and the results of the research, a model for leadership and employee empowerment ensuring a more effective process of employee empowerment has been proposed.
