ENIn a contemporary global society, where the phenomenon of interculturality is manifested, the each for new educational ideas is carried out and the interaction and education of multi-national communities become the source of research. The phenomenon of interculturality is widely analyzed by foreign scientists (Féral, 2006, Network, 2004, etc.), “scientific literature presents various attitudes towards the interculturality; multidimensional conceptions exist; perspectives are identified and it evidences really existing different conceptions of the culture as well as theories when the culture and interculturality become the object of conceptual discussions“ (Bilbokaitė, 2012, p. 0526). Growing cultural variety influences the creed of community members, changes their values and, finally, determines the content of educational process. The novelty and relevance of this research is determined by the lack of such investigations in Lithuania, despite the fact that during the last decade greater attention is paid to interculturality and intercultural education thematic, however the definitions of multiculturality, interculturality, different cultures concepts are not fully clarified, they are analyzed from various perspectives, grounded on different theories, or used as synonyms, or are given different meanings. In this article, in order to understand the complexity of contemporary world and its multicultural aspects, the different definitions of interculturality are analyzed at theoretic level and the perception of members from Lithuanian schools community – pupils of 11th -12th forms – about interculturality is presented, while the research results revealed that interculturality is explained through three (individual, nation and phenomenon) dimensions.
