ENIn the 18th century, after the partition of the Poland-Lithuania, the historical circumstances led to the fact that the Lithuanian region of Užnemunė (Sūduva), not like any other region of Lithuania, was in turn under German, French-Polish and finally Russian rule. For 120 years, Sūduva region’s forests were managed by German, Polish and Russian foresters, exchanging each other. We believe that the contribution of these people is worth mentioning with respect, because the work of the foresters was always noble. [From the publication]
