ENThe paper deals with the influence of problem teaching, as one of active teaching methods, on students’ mental capacity, whose change was estimated according to the results of reflexometrics to a weak light signal, applying the Kosilov mental fatigue gradation table. The results of the investigation point to the fact that active teaching methods require considerable psychophysical efforts from students and decrease their mental capacity. These methods should be employed at the time (lessons, days and weeks) of students’ highest mental capacity. [From the publication]
