LTŠiuolaikinių informacinių technologijų diegimas ir taikymas – svarbi prielaida verslo įmonėms išlikti konkurencingomis ir inovatyviomis. Verslo dinamika ir naujų technologijų pasiūlos augimas įtakoja nuolatinį investicijų į informacinių technologijų infrastruktūros plėtrą poreikį. XXI a. pradžioje atsiradusios debesų kompiuterijos technologijos verslo įmonėms siūlo naujausius technologinius sprendimus, neinvestuojant į informacinių technologijų infrastruktūros palaikymą, priežiūrą ir plėtrą. Straipsnyje nagrinėjami debesų kompiuterijos technologijų paslaugų tipai, apžvelgiamos kiekvieno debesų kompiuterijos paslaugų tipo paslaugos ir vertinamos jų taikymo galimybės verslo įmonėse, analizuojant Lietuvos statistikos departamento ir Europos sąjungos statistikos tarnybos EUROSTAT duomenis, vertinamos debesų kompiuterijos technologijų taikymo Lietuvos įmonėse tendencijos. ENModern companies seek to remain entrepreneurial, competitive and innovative. Ever-increasing competitive environment of business entities causes the demand and development of new technologies, innovations and other factors determining competitive advantage. The adoption and application of new technologies becomes one of the most important competitive factors that allow successfully competing at the modern market. Cloud computing technologies appeared at the beginning of the XXI century throw out new challenges and suggest new technology opportunities for business companies. Scientists who study the benefit of cloud computing technologies for business emphasize that cloud computing technologies is a way to cut down the expenses for the support, maintenance and development of information technology infrastructure. Cloud computing technologies change speed of operation and allow focusing on other objectives important for a company because their rendered services are complex and comfortable. They are installed quickly and efficiently and are accessible at any time and from any spot. According to the data of the research of the companies registered in Lithuania conducted by ISM University of Management and Economics in 2011 cloud computing services were not widely known and used. Lithuanian companies did not value information communication technologies in a proper manner and did not think that information communication technologies could provide their business competitive advantage. In order to ascertain how the situation of cloud computing technologies application in Lithuanian business companies has changed for the past five years the research has been conducted. Research object: cloud computing technologies for business. Research objective: to conduct the analysis of the application of cloud computing technologies in business. Research tasks: 1. To review cloud computing services and their types.2. To evaluate the possibilities of cloud computing services application in business companies. 3. To analyse the trends of the application of cloud computing technologies in Lithuanian companies and organizations. Research method. The conducted analysis of scientific literature included the examination of the models of cloud computing technologies, the types of cloud computing services and the possibilities of their application in business companies. In order to evaluate the trends of the application of cloud computing technologies in Lithuanian companies there was conducted the analysis of the data of Lithuanian Statistics Department and the statistical office of the European Union EUROSTAT. The results of the conducted research can be summarized by virtue of the below-mentioned conclusions: There are the following types of cloud computing services: platform as a service, infrastructure as a service and software as a service. The analysis of the data of Lithuanian Statistics Department and the statistical office of the European Union EUROSTAT showed that cloud computing technologies are not widely applied in Lithuanian companies. Only 17,0 percent of Lithuanian companies use cloud computing technologies. Lithuania ranks No. 7 among the member states of the European Union according to the application of cloud computing technologies in company activity. The most popular cloud computing services in Lithuania as well as in other countries of the European Union are the following: electronic mail, data file storage, database hosting service. Besides, the application of finance and accounting instruments as cloud computing service is becoming more and more popular in company activity. [From the publication]
