ENDistance working or sometimes called teleworking, e-work, telework is one of the forms of flexible work organization. This modern form of work organization has gained influence from 1999 in Europe, but from history point it is dated from 1970 in USA. This is worldwide spread work organization form is usually related with information technologies, but author tries to give a point of view, that distance work shouldn’t be related only with IT. Together article don’t aim to analyze all history and it’s way till nowadays of distance working, but more analysis is given of main aspects which impacted legal regulation of such work organizing form in labor market. Article is divided to parts describing origin, definition and peculiarities of distance working. Author analyzes why worldwide used term telework isn’t used in Lithuania, instead of it using term – distance work or distance working contract. Problem arise not only from methodical usage of the definition, but and in his primary meaning, because legal acts don’t give prime and undisputable definition, leaving this for practice and scientific research. Summary of all investigation is addressed to most problematical theoretical and practical aspects in authors point of view. It should be noted, what author don’t seek to analyze all aspects of distance working, but it choose method of analyzing most common and problematical aspects in his point of view. Author in work are opened such aspects as benefits and lacks of distance working organization. It is given for evaluation what gives distance work more positive or negative aspects and in authors seeks in such way help to decide for subjects organizing distance work is it worth to do it for for all job positions or only in clearly defined cases. Author divides analysis of benefits and lacks of telework into two groups.First group is shared for analysis of benefits which gain employee and employer from distance work organization and second group is shared for analysis of lacks of such regulation. Such analysis is justified due the fact what it is hard to find answer is distance work best form of job organization or not. Author in this field lets for each person decide on his own is it better organize work in distant way or use older system, when employee performs all work tasks in companies premises. All analysis is completed by giving final conclusions, which help better understand given material and case of study.
