LTStraipsnyje siekiama atskleisti vaikų, gyvenančių globos namuose, savarankiško gyvenimo įgūdžių raišką, jų ugdymo/si galimybes. Atlikta mokslinės literatūros analizė ir empirinio tyrimo rezultatai suteikė informacijos apie vaikų, gyvenančių globos namuose, savarankiško gyvenimo ugdymo ypatumus, ugdytinių problemas. Tyrimas parodė, kad aplinkos ir psichologiniai veiksniai labiausiai veikia vaikų savarankiško gyvenimo įgūdžių ugdymą vaikų globos namuose. Analizuojant globos namuose gyvenančių vaikų savarankiškumo ugdymą paaiškėjo, kad Lietuvoje nėra daug tyrimų šia problematika, todėl gauti rezultatai nurodo, į ką labiausiai reikėtų atkreipti dėmesį, siekiant kompleksiškai atskleisti dabartinę situaciją savarankiškumo ugdymo klausimais ir konstruojant efektyvesnį globos namų auklėtinių gyvenimo įgūdžių ugdymo modelį. ENAccording to a Swedish scientist I. Höjer ir Y. Sjöblom (2010) the period for Foster Home pupil of getting to an independent life from the one that they had in the home is very short. Through this period, pupil feel very lonely because they do not receive the expected encouragement and advice during the preparation for independent life. The lessons of how to handle the independence in pupils life has a really strong effect in helping them to create a fortunate future. It can help them to feel as full – fledged persons in the community where they could get used not only to the changing living conditions but also take the right decisions influencing their future lives. The object of the research is the expression of Foster Home pupil independent life skills. The main aim of the research is to analyze pupil opinion about their independent living skills. Methods of the research: a mixed type survey is chosen with closed and opened type questions involved. The survey was held at November – December Lithuanian region located 5 city children foster care homes. There were 96 custodial home pupil (56 girls and 40 boys) doing the survey where they could mark a few answers to each question. The age of respondents was from 12 to 17 years. In order to respect the social research ethics questionnaire the pupil for the survey were chosen randomly by getting the agreement from the principal of the Foster Homes, teachers, social educationists, psychologists and pupil themselves. The theoretical part of the research gave results that teaching pupils of independent life has a major influence on creating the successful future for them. However, the pupils living in Foster Homes in this country do not receive the right type of encouragement and advice when they are prepared for independent life.The results of the survey show that pupils living in Foster Home need develop their living skills, communication skills, financial skills, physiological - the knowledge of the needs of leisure. The main problems faced by students educated independent living skills of children distrust, children's isolation from the outside world, financial and material resources and the lack of home care workers, lack of expertise in educating their children for independent living.
