ENThis article discusses the identification problems of the 16th–18th c. artillery guns kept in Lithuanian museums and a private collection. Also, it discusses in detail the original artillery guns, of which 28 are cannons, 3 swivel cannons, 5 mortars and 2 howitzers. All these artillery guns have been measured and photographed at their storage/display locations. The 25 artillery guns were examined through an XRF analysis to help determine if they’re the original artillery guns or their copies. Also, in accordance with the XRF data, it is possible to draw conclusions about the damage made to the artillery guns during the period of their use (barrel cracks, splits, bursts) due to the inadequate alloy composition. After having analyzed and systematized all collected and obtained data, a catalogue was made of all original 16th–18th century artillery guns kept in Lithuanian museums and the private collection. The catalogue presents pictures of artillery cannons, technical and XRF analysis data, museum inventory numbers and storage/display locations. [From the publication]
