ENThe article discusses the reconstruction of the tower of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Tauragė built in 1903 after the First World War. The project of the church consecrated on August 1, 1904 has not been found. According to architectural forms, it belongs to the authorship of the Swedish architect Karl Eduard Strandmann (1867-1946). In survived photographs, we see architectural forms typical of sanctuaries of the mentioned architect: a single-towered, basilican volume, Latin cross-plan church with a square five-story tower protruding forward. Small three-story pyramidal towers are tied to sides of the tower. During the First World War, the church was violently damaged, the tower was blown up. When the engineer Tomas Okunis prepared a project for the reconstruction of the tower, the roof of the church was already covered, and the worship was held in the sanctuary. The Construction Inspectorate under the Ministry of the Interior confirmed the project for the reconstruction of the tower in autumn of 1927. During the reconstruction, designed by Tomas Okunis, facades of the church were plastered. They lost their play of colours typical of neo-Gothic style. The triangular fronton which split up the entire tower rising upright essentially changed the main facade of the church. After the reconstructions of the tower, the outside of the neo-Gothic sanctuary with Romanesque elements were filled with motifs of classicism, thus the church became even more eclectic.
