The Corpus of spoken Lithuanian : methodology and development

ENThe paper describes the methodology and the stages of the spoken Lithuanian corpus which was begun to be developed in 2006. There has not been any systematic work in spoken Lithuanian. Thus, the collection and analysis of spontaneous language data is complicated and requires special preparation such as, methods to collect, transcribe and code. The considerate attention is paid to the methodology of the corpus development in the paper. The creation of the Corpus of the spoken Lithuanian language consists of five main stages: the preparation of methodology, the recording of spoken language, the transcription of the recorded data, the grammatical annotation and the creation of an Internet tool for the corpus analysis. All the stages have caused some methodological problems which are described in the paper. [From the publication]
