ENThe sources of Lithuanian terminology of botany are datable to the 19th century. These are manuscripts and publications with names of plants and terms of plant morphology by J. A. Pabrėža, S. Daukantas, L. Ivinskis, J. Basanavičius, and others. Main works of the field were written by J. A. Pabrėža and L. Ivinskis. Their studies are based on the literature of botany of the day and have the features of scientific works. Those authors worked separately and created individual terminology of botany. Publications of S. Daukantas, J. Basanavičius, J. Sem- brickis, A. Kašarauskas are mostly cognitive works about plants. The works discussed in the article are mentioned in the references of the most important publication on botanical terminology of the 20th century „Lietuviškas botanikos žodynas”. The names of plants and terms of plant morphology suggested by J. A. Pabrėža, L. Ivinskis, J. Basanavičius, J. Sembrickis, A. Kašarauskas are included in the work. Some plant names and terms created in the 19th century survived till the present day in Lithuanian botanical terminology. The evidence suggests that botanists of the 20th century based the Lithuanian botanical terminology on the botany studies of the 19th century. [From the publication]
