Platelių bažnyčios altoriai

LTPirmoji bažnyčia Plateliuose pastatyta dar 1564 m., o 1598 ir 1654 m. – atnaujinta. Dokumentai liudija joje buvus penkis altorius. 1729 m. vizitacijos akte teigiama, kad tik didysis ir šoninis Šv. Juozapo altorius buvęs drožėjų darbo, o kiti trys puošti tik paveikslais. Apie 1735–1741 m., likus vos keleriems metams iki naujosios Platelių bažnyčios statybos, pradedami statyti du nauji altoriai: Šv. Šeimos ir Šv. arkangelo Mykolo. Tikėtina, kad į 1744 m. pastatytą naująją medinę bažnyčią iš senosios buvo perkelti ir šie du altoriai. Be jų naujojoje bažnyčioje pastatyti dar trys: didysis – tituluotas Šv. apaštalų Petro ir Povilo vardu ir du šoniniai – Šv. Onos ir Nukryžiuotojo. XVIII a. vidurio dokumentuose pateiktas altorių apibūdinimas, jų titulai, paveikslų pavadinimai bei jų išsidėstymas visiškai atitinka ir dabar matomą vaizdą. Vėlyviausias Platelių bažnyčioje yra vienatarpsnis Švč. Mergelės Marijos altorius. Jis pastatytas XX a. pirmojoje pusėje. ENThe first church in Plateliai was built in 1564 m., and it was renovated in 1598 and 1654. The documents show that there were five altars in the church. In the visitation act of 1729 it is stated that only the great and side St. Joseph altar was made by carvers and other three altars were only decorated with paintings. Round 1735-1741, several years before a new church of Plateliai was built, two new altars of the Holy Family and St. Archangel Michael were started to be built. It is probable that the two altars were brought to the new wooden church built in 1744. Aside from these two altars three new altars were built in the new church: the great altar of St. Peter and Paul and two side altars of St. Anne and Crucifix. Definition of altars, titles, titles of paintings and their arrangement provided in the documents of the middle of the 18th c. fully corresponds to the present image of the church. The latest altar in the church of Plateliai is the single-platform altar of the Holy Virgin Mary built in the first half of the 20th c.
