Liaudies papročiai ir tikėjimai : semantinis diskursas

LTStraipsnyje aptariamos etnokultūros reiškinių įvairovės Lietuvos teritorijoje priežastys. Modelio objektu pasirinkta viena iš ryškesnių regioninių kultūrų, plėtota kitados (iki XIV a.) sėlių genties apgyvendintame areale. Nagrinėjama tradicinių kalendorinių papročių ir tikėjimų kilmė bei chronotopas. Būtent šie reiškiniai, sąlygoti tradicinės gyvensenos prioritetų, išreiškiantys metų darbų ritmą, gerai išsaugo pirmapradį klodą. Diskursas galimas dviem alternatyviomis kryptimis: arba iki XIX a. pabaigos valstietiškai bendruomenei kažkaip pavyko išlaikyti kultūros paveldo dalykus, ateinančius dar iš ikivalstybinių laikų, gentinės sanklodos, arba skirtumai susiformavo vėlesniais laikais, sąlygoti didelio gyvenimo uždarumo baudžiaviniame kaime. Šiaurės rytų Lietuvoje, sėlių genties teritorijoje, fiksuoti tradiciniai papročiai ir tikėjimai yra gana specifiški; tai atliepia archeologų duomenis apie labai skirtingą šio krašto kultūros raidą. Išskirtinai gerai čia išlaikytos apeigos rugių augimui skatinti bei gyvulininkystės sėkmei užtikrinti. Semantinis lokalių kalendorinių papročių nagrinėjimas išryškino tam tikrus jų bruožus, kurie gali būti interpretuojami kaip susiję su senąja baltų mitologija, archajinėmis kalendorinėmis sistemomis, similine bei agrarine magija. ENThe article discusses the reasons for diversity of ethnic culture phenomena on the territory of Lithuania. One of the more prominent regional cultures, developed before the 14th century in the area, populated by the Sėliai tribes was selected as the model object. The origins and chronotope of the traditional calendar traditions and beliefs are examined, since only the said phenomena, resulting from the priorities of traditional lifestyle and expressing the rhythm of the year’s labours have preserved the primeval aspects best. The discourse is possible to two alternative directions: either the peasants’ community, till the end of the 19th century managed to retain the aspects of their cultural heritage, which were in existence already in the pre-statehood times or the differences formed later, resulting from the insularity of life in the villages. The traditions and beliefs, noted in the Northeastern Lithuania, on the Sėliai tribes’ territory are rather specific, which reflects the archaeologists’ data on a very different development of the culture of the area. The rituals, used for ensuring of success in crop growing and animal breeding have been retained exceptionally well. The semantic examination of the local calendar traditions highlighted certain traits, which may be interpreted as relating to the ancient Baltic mythology, archaic calendar systems and agrarian magic.
