Medinio architektūros paveldo saugojimo ypatumai

LTMedinė architektūra iki XX a. vidurio užėmė vyraujančią poziciją (sudarė apie 80% visų statinių), formavo ir vis dar veikia mūsų tapatumą. Medinio paveldo autentiškumo esmę sudaro statybos tradicija, kuri sovietmečiu jau buvo nutrūkusi. Todėl šiandien, tvarkant medinius paveldo objektus, dažnai dėl senųjų statybos technologijų neišmanymo ir jų nepaisymo prarandama istorinė informacija, kartu ir objekto vertė. Svarbus vaidmuo saugant medinį paveldą tenka meistrui amatininkui, o pastato išlikimas daugiausia priklauso nuo savininko požiūrio ir supratimo, nes mediniam namui, skirtingai nei mūriniam, reikalinga nuolatinė priežiūra, tausojanti tvarkyba ir specialios žinios. ENWooden architecture until the middle of 20th century was dominant (made up 80% of all the buildings) and formed and still acts on our identity. The essence of the authenticity of the wooden heritage is building tradition, which had already been cut off in the Soviet times. Therefore, today, when treating/restoring wooden houses we often lose historical information and value of the object due to the ignorance of the old construction technologies. An important role in preserving the wooden heritage depend on the craftsman also on the owners attitude and understanding, since the wooden house, unlike the brickwork, requires constant maintenance, sustainable management and special knowledge which is the precondition for human action. Crafts and traditional building technologies, former a part of traditional lifestyle, are now becoming objects of cultural heritage. More than a hundred years ago, William Morris’s thoughts, upgrading craft values are returning to life, reinterpreting, becoming more relevant and gaining an exclusive meaning in the 21st century postmodern society, with new assessment of heritage, traditions and cultural phenomena.
