ENThe article analyses one of the most popular kinds of additional agreements concluded between employees and employers, met in the recent practice of Lithuania – agreement re compensation of training expenses. Thirst, legal nature of additional agreements in employment relationship is briefly discussed, and then definition, content and implementation of agreement re compensation of training expenses is analyzed. The author names essential problems and issues rising regarding the content and implementation of such agreement, and provides comprehensive legal analysis of respective case-law of the Lithuanian Supreme Court and other courts, which illustrates lack of proper regulation of the agreement, discussed in the article. The author comes to the conclusion that the law should contain rules re recalculation of training expenses in proportion with the time worked by the employee after attendance of the training, since current regulation of the term of one (two – according to the new LC) year is much more favorable the employer than to the employee. The law should clearly indicate which clauses may be agreed by the parties independently and it also should clearly state how compensation of training expenses should work in case, when employee terminates employment contract.
