ENThe first chapel of the Virgin Mary was built in Šiaudinė in 1775. Its forms were of folk architecture. The present wooden, rectangular, vertically boarded church with a small tower was built in 1839–1845. The folk, neo-gothic and baroque forms of the church intertwine. Their symbiosis is characteristic of the art of the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The first church in Pašvitinys was built in 1459. It was enlarged in 1495. The present church was built in 1852. In 1857 it was consecrated by bishop Motiejus Valanèius. The neo-renaissance St. Trinity Church in Pašvitinys is built of stone; it is rectangular and has got two big towers. Its architectural neo-renaissance forms are in harmony with one another. In the interior there dominate the neo-baroque works; there are also a lot of naturalistic works. It is characteristic of the Lithuanian churches of the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. [From the publication]
