Lietuviška muzika perforuoto popieriaus ritinėliuose

LTStraipsnyje toliau tęsiami autoriaus tyrimai, skirti JA V lietuvių išleistiems muzikos įrašams pianolai. Aprašomi naujai atrasti ritinėliai, nustatyti leidėjai, identifikuotos tų pačių kūrinių „klajonės“ tarp skirtingų ritinėlius gaminusių ir leidusių firmų. Išsamiau apžvelgiamos tokių įrašų radimosi aplinkybės, pateikiama naujų žinių apie muzikus, įgrojusius ar aranžavusius lietuvišką muziką pianolai, taip pat atskleidžiami nauji tarpkultūrinio bendradarbiavimo aspektai. Tyrime taikomi analitinis, lyginamasis, istorinių šaltinių analizės metodai. Atkreipiamas dėmesys, kad ritinėliai pianolai su lietuviškos muzikos įrašais vis dar mažai tyrinėti, nežinomas bendras jų kiekis, nuodugniai neišnagrinėta repertuaro struktūra, be to, pačių kūrinių identifikavimą ir tyrimus apsunkina tai, kad ritinėlių saugojimo vietose nėra instrumentų, kuriais būtų galima jų paklausyti. Lieka atviras ir lietuviškumo klausimas – dalis ritinėlių skirta populiariam to meto tarptautiniam repertuarui, dar kiti ritinėliai su lietuviškomis autorių pavardėmis yra išleisti tarp kitų tautų (dažniausiai lenkų) muzikos. ENThe article presents the author’s continuous research on piano rolls published by Lithuanians in the USA. Newly discovered rolls, publishers and the identified transfer of the same music between different pianola music companies are discussed. Conditions of the appearance of these rolls are presented in a more detailed way, as well as newly collected information about the people who played, arranged or recorded Lithuanian music for piano rolls. New means of international collaboration are also revealed. Methods of analytical and comparative research together with an analysis of historical sources were used for this article. It is noted that Lithuanian music for pianola has not yet been researched enough, as even the final number of issues has not been determined. Recorded music and its variety has not been analyzed in detail yet either. And finally, it is difficult to identify recorded songs and original compositions themselves because of the lack of the music instrument (pianola) in archives and private collections where Lithuanian piano rolls are held. So it is impossible to listen to the music recorded on these rolls.Another question which still needs to be discussed more widely is the identity of Lithuanian rolls – that is, their Lithuanian-ness. Some of the “Lithuanian” rolls contain popular international music of that time, other rolls have been recorded by people with Lithuanian names but they have been published in the series of other national communities (most of all, amongst Polish music). The conclusion has been made that Lithuanian music rolls highlight some specific cases where the Lithuanian community in the USA published and shared their music. This fact also discloses ways in which they integrated into the general international musical life. The addition of newly discovered rolls and archival documents has increased the number of existing rolls since 2010 three times (up to 350). This means that the research on Lithuanian piano rolls needs more time and efforts and that it is not yet complete. [From the publication]
