ENThis article is about the peculiarities of the sorcerer texts that are in the manuscripts (chamails) of Tatars of the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Not only the curative texts (that were used against different illnesses) are interest for the researches but also the accompanying comment. As a rule it has the name of the illness and the description of the directions for use of the curative text. It is possible according to the name to classify the illnesses into "natural" and "supernatural" ones. But the research shows that both these groups have the same reasons and are connected with the influence of the evil forces (shaytaus, fereys, maras etc.). Therefore also the supernatural possibilities of the "holy word" were needed for the treatment. Perhaps the treatment of the usual illnesses was carried out with the help of the simple natural medicines of the vegetable, animal or mineral origin. Such prescriptions of the rational popular medicine are rare in the chamails. But they could be collected in the special book of home cures. Such is a manuscript from the Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. [From the publication]
