Senatvės įvaizdžiai Lietuvos periodinėje spaudoje : tarp pagarbos ir baimės

LTLietuvos visuomenėje vis daugėjant vyresnio amžiaus žmonių, stichiškai daugėja ir žinių apie senatvę ir ją išgyvenančius žmones. Regis, vis dar nesame patenkinti tuo, ką žinome apie šį gyvenimo tarpsnį. Vadovaujantis Nacionalinės gyventojų senėjimo pasekmių įveikimo strategijos (2004) 173.3.3 skirsniu, pagyvenusių žmonių teigiamo įvaizdžio formavimas Lietuvoje pripažintas valstybinio lygmens užduotimi. Šio straipsnio tikslas – atskleisti Lietuvos populiariojoje spaudoje vyraujantį vyresnio amžiaus žmonių ir senatvės naudojamų įvaizdžių žodyną. Tyrimo tikslui įgyvendinti pasirinktas dokumentų analizės metodas, leidžiantis objektyviai įvertinti senatvės įvaizdžių pobūdį bei sklaidą apibrėžto laikotarpio spaudos leidiniuose. Susipažinimas su vyresnio amžiaus žmonių ir senatvės įvaizdžių moksliniu diskursu bei populiariosios Lietuvos periodikos pranešimų srauto originalaus empirinio tyrimo rezultatais leidžia konstatuoti, kad vyresnio amžiaus žmonių ir senatvės įvaizdžių atstovavimas periodikoje yra gana daugialypis, tačiau stichiškas ir nesuderintas. Straipsnis naudingas būsimiems ir jau praktikuojantiems socialiniams darbuotojams, taip pat kitiems skaitytojams: tiems, kurie jau šiandien priskiria save vyresniųjų kartai, ir tiems, kurie patys į vyresniąją kartą įsilies ateityje, bet savo kasdienėje veikloje jau dabar susiduria su pagyvenusiais žmonėmis. ENWith the increasing number of elderly people in the Lithuanian society, information on the old age and people who experience it is proliferating spontaneously. Yet seemingly we are still dissatisfied with the knowledge we have about the stage of life. Pursuant to clause 173.3.3 (2004) of the National Strategy for Overcoming Consequences of Population Ageing, the formation of the positive image of the elderly people in Lithuania has been acknowledged the project of the national level. The goal of the article is to reveal the predominant lexicon of describing the image of old age and elderly people in the most popular Lithuanian periodical press. The results of the quantitative analysis of information found in the most popular periodicals (January-June 2005) suggest that the most widespread descriptive words for elderly people in periodicals are pensioners, old people and grandparents, while neutral concepts, such as elderly people or older generation, are rather rare. Furthermore, representation of images of old age and elderly people in periodicals in fairly multiple, though spontaneous and unbalanced. The semantic analysis of the periodicals reveals the following images of elderly people: recipients of retirement and social support benefits, victims powerless in physical and legal terms, old age as the time of losses, repulsive persons, active persons, etc. The article is helpful for students of social sciences and social workers as well as for a wider circle of readers.
