ENVacys Milius’s diary published here speaks about his “ethnographic trip” as he calls it to Poland with research purposes to collect material related to Lithuania in Polish museums and libraries. In the diary, which he used to write almost every day, he records briefly his work and the information he was able to obtain. He describes his meetings with Polish ethnologists and museum curators, and the experience he gained during his visits to various universities and museums. The diary contains information about two conferences in which he took part - the 42nd Meeting of Polskie Towarzystwo Ludoznawcze on 20-22 October 1967 in Łódź, and the 2nd Conference of Polish Ethnographers on 19-21 February 1968 in Rzeszów-Łańcut. The diary also shows that Milius was interested not only in academic and museum life and work or Lithuanian material. His ethnographic observations or comments on various locations, folk life and customs are also included. Later Vacys Milius described and analyzed the findings of this ethnographic trip and the field research in Seinai in his articles on Lithuanian materials from Polish museums and libraries, and on patterns of folk costumes and folk architecture in the Seinai district.
