ENThe past twenty five years have seen the considerable growth in the field of bilingual German and Lithuanian LSP-lexicography. However, almost no scientific attention has been paid to the questions of the concept, scope, structure and usefulness of the LSP-dictionaries. This paper aims at providing an overview of the existing German and Lithuanian LSP-dictionaries with a special attention to the dictionary structure. The analysis is based on 20 German-Lithuanian and Lithuanian-German LSP-dictionaries and covers the following topics: dictionary titles, prefaces, several problems of dictionary macrostructure (such as the selection of headwords, presentation of multi-word-units) and microstructure (different information categories presented in the dictionary article). The critical examination of dictionary structure revealed several weaknesses. Among the shortcomings are the incorporation of the words of every day language into the small-sized specialized dictionaries, vagueness of user’s information, wich corresponds in many cases with the confusion and lack of uniformity in dictionaries’ structures, failure to provide more and better linguistic information in the dictionary article. Only several German and Lithuanian LSP-dictionaries can claim to be something more than simple bilingual lists of special terms.
