ENThe article analyses the manifestations of society’s religious relations in private feudal domain - Radvilai Biržai duchy. The object of research is 22 letters - correspondence with the owner of domain, Christopher II Radvila, written by famous Calvinist preacher and theologian of the Great Duchy of Lithuania, Baltazaras Krosnevičius (1614-1623). It should be noted, that the above-mentioned letters were not published as an academic object, further more, they are used in historiography very briefly. The analysis of the text and the content showed that the inheritance of Krosnevičius’s letters is very informative and exhaustive for the investigation of economic relationships in private property, system of manors’ clients, and especially proper for the reconstruction of religious matters. The data found in the letters allowed looking at five problematical society’s religious life aspects happening in the discussed time period: cujus regio ėjus religio principle application circumstances in the territory of the Great Duchy of Lithuania; functioning of evangelical-reformers’ communities; the competence of protestant clergy and their connections with their patrons and nobles; the role of personal faith in the activity of dignitaries and nobles; sacramental daily round of the larger part of local manor society - peasants. Krosnevičius’s correspondence demonstrated that the letters of the clergy significantly widen and replenish attached material - liturgical (declamations, catechisms) and theological (tractates) texts - this reflects real confessional behaviour of the society in the Reformation period, which still is terra incognita in historiography.
