ENThe publication contains the biographical data of the priests who worked in Punskas Parish from the beginning of the 19th century until the outbreak of the World War I. It presents the biographies of all the members of clergy recorded in the church books: parsons, vicars, residents (retirees). It is impossible to say whether the list of priests from Punskas Parish is complete, because there is a lack of primary sources and not all the elenchus from the Dioceses of Wigry and Seinai (Augustavas) were found. The most problematic elenchus are from the early and middle 19th century. There are all the documents from 1872 until 1915. The documents contain the information about the pastoral work of priests in the parishes during the period of their ministry. More detailed information is about the priests who worked in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries; whereas the data about the priests of the first half of the 19th century, especially doing pastoral work in the Diocese of Wigry, is often limited just to the registration of the stay in Punskas or any other parish.
