Aukštaitiškumas lietuviškosios tapatybės kontekste

LTStraipsnyje analizuojamas aukštaitiškumas lietuviškosios tapatybės kontekste. Aptarus termino tapatybė suvokimą, keliamas pagrindinis straipsnio klausimas, kaip savo tapatybę suvokia patys aukštaičiai. Straipsnyje aiškinamasi, ar dabartiniai aukštaičiai (kaip ir žemaičiai, dzūkai ar suvalkiečiai) laikytini tik krašto gyventojais pagal gyvenamąją vietą, ar jie turi kultūrinę savimonę; ar ir senovėje aukštaičiai buvo tik geografinė sąvoka, ar egzistavo tam tikros tradicinės kultūros aukštaičių bendruomenė, kurios užimamas plotas su aukštaičių geografine prasme gyvenama teritorija galėjo ir nesutapti; ar egzistuoja ,,žemaitiškoji Aukštaitija“ ir t. t.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Aukštaitija; Etnokultūra; Higher Lithuania; Ethnoculture.

ENThe article looks into the features of Upper Lithuanian character in the context of Lithuanian identity. The discussion of the concept of identity is followed by the main issue of the article, namely, how the proper Upper Lithuanians perceive their identity. The article deals with whether modern Upper Lithuanians (similarly to Samogitians, dzūkai and suvalkiečiai) should be considered only inhabitants of the region or they possess cultural consciousness; whether in the old times the Upper Lithuanians also were only a geographical concept or a community of Upper Lithuanians of a certain traditional culture existed, the area of which did not necessarily coincide with the territory geographically inhabited by the Upper Lithuanians; whether the Samogitian Upper Lithuania exists etc.
