ENThe article raises the question of the role of populist mythology in the Post Communist European World. The attention is focused on the theme of Myth in political ideology. The anthropomorphical features of populism arc stressed. In the context of populism the modern crisis of the of the presidential system of government in Lithuania [ is explained. The predestination of the intelligentsia in the struggle against populism is analysed. Joining in the discussion about connection between anti-Semitism and populism the author states that populism gives rise to anti-Semitism. Also so -called conspiracy theories are reviewed. In conclusion, the problem of selection between populist and non-populist political future cannot be solved once and for all. [From the publication]
