LTNacionalinės Martyno Mažvydo bibliotekos Retų knygų ir rankraščių skyriaus inkunabulų rinkinį sudaro 83 leidiniai (86 egz.). Kataloge pateildami išsamūs bibliografiniai inkunabulų aprašai. EN[...] The Rare Book and Manuscript Department of the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania (hereafter the National Library) currently has eighty-three titles of incunabula (eighty-six items if counting individual volumes). [...] The majority of the incunabula of the National Library are books of religious content. [...] The most abundant genre of religious incunabula is sermon, which retained its popularity in later times. Among the religious incunabula preserved at the National Library, the most numerous are collected sermons by various authors. [...] The collection of incunabula of the National Library also includes treatises by famous ancient authors. Church Fathers and medieval authors, which have not lost their relevance today: Opuscula (1489,1495,1497, Nos. 14-16) by St. Bonavenhira (circa 1217-1274); works by the Bishop of Cesarea Eusebius (Eusebius Caesariensis, circa 263-circa 340) and St. Augustine (354-430); works by St. Thomas Aquinas (circa 1225-1274), his teacher St. Albert the Great (Albertus Magnus, circa 1193-1280) and the Church father St. Jerome (Hieronymus, circa 347-119 or 420); decrees of the Popes Boniface VIII (1235-1303) and Clement V (1264-1314); and personal letters (Epistolae familiäres, Lyon, 1497, No. 66) of the Pope Pius II (1405-1464), the earlier German edition of which (1484) is preserved at the Vilnius University Library. [...] Almost all the incunabula are in Latin. The collection of the Rare Book and Manuscript Department includes only one book in German [...]. The majority of the incunabula (fifty-six) were printed in Germany: twenty-eight in Strasbourg, eleven in Nuremberg, five in Cologne, three in Speyer, two each respectively in Augsburg and Ulm, one each respectively in Tübingen, Leipzig, Reutlingen and Lübeck. The German cities of Strasbourg, Nuremberg, Cologne and Leipzig were among the biggest publishing centres of the 15th century.Twelve incunabula were printed in Italy: nine in Venice, two in Brescia and one in Rome. Eleven incunabula were printed in Switzerland (all in Basel). Nine incunabula were printed in France (six in Lyon and three in Hagenau). [...] The incunabula are described in line with the International Standard Bibliographic Description for Older Monographic Publications (Antiquarian) ISBD(A) and listed alphabetically by personai names or titles. The personal names are given in line with national authority databases. The title is transcribed as in the book, and the meanings of abbreviations (often used in titles of the 15th century books) are given in brackets. The information about the publisher taken not from the book is presented in brackets. Alongside with conventional notes about the publication (foliation, signature, specificity of design), a fingerprint (a book recognition — code facilitating the identification of a damaged book) is also given in the description. Then the binding is described, the defects and imperfections indicated and the provenances with their original spelling and indication of their location in the book are given. At the end of the description, the holding call number of the copy is given. [...] Lists of bibliographic sources start with sources which were used most frequently. They are the Union Catalogue of Incunabula, Gesamtkatalog der Wiegendrucke, the catalogue of incunabula of the Bodleian Library (Bod-inc), the catalogue of incunabula by Feigelmanas "The Incunabula of Lithuania", the international database of the European publications of the 15th century (ISTC: Incunabula Short Title Catalogue) and other electronic catalogues and databases of various countries. The final part of the catalogue contains indices of personal names, printers, publishers and distributors as well as indices of owners, which supplement the descriptions and which will help to easily find the required information.
