LTPublikacijoje aptariama lietuviška medžiaga, pateikta žymaus lenkų etnografo, archeologo, kultūros istoriko Zygmunto Glogerio (1845-1910) darbuose. Jį visų pirma domino ūkinio gyvenimo ir modernios ekonomikos plėtros aspektai (dalį savo publicistinių apžvalgų skyrė žemės ūkio parodoms Rietave ir Šiauliuose). Kita tyrinėtoja masinanti sritis – archeologinės ekspedicijos Nemuno slėniais. Kelionė upe bei kultūrinės tų vietovių studijos atsispindi daug kartų pildytame Kelionės Nemunu dienoraštyje (Dziennik podróży po Niemnie). Istoriniai Glogerio interesai inspiravo darbus, skirtus Lietuvos stumbrams, Lietuvos inventorių analizei bei Žemaitijos bajorų kilmei. Atskirą vietą užima jo pastabos apie naujai atgimstantį lietuvių valstybingumą. Remdamasis istorine medžiaga, kurioje rado argumentų dėl lenkų ir lietuvių bendrystės (tai ilgaamžis tautų maišymasis, belaisviai, savanoriška migracija), jis pasisakė už Lietuvos ir Lenkijos uniją. Palaikydamas pilną lietuvių autonomiją dvasinės ir materialinės kultūros, kalbos, papročių, folkloro srityse, Glogeris vis dėlto buvo skeptiškai nusiteikęs atskiros lietuvių valstybės idėjos atžvilgiu. ENThis paper is devoted to the problematic issues connected with Lithuania in the selected writings of Zygmunt Gloger, a respected polish ethnographer, archeologist and historian. He demonstrated interest in the economic life and its development in Lithuania (some of his journalistic reports were devoted to the agricultural exhibitions in Rietavas and Šiauliai). Archeological expeditions in the valley of Niemen were another subject of interest to Gloger. Travels down the river and examinations of the indigenous cultures contributed to the reports in Travel Journal about Niemen. Historical passions of Gloger inspired him to write works devoted to the Lithuanian bison, analysis of the inventories in Lithuania and the research on the origins of the nobility in Žemaitija. Another important issue for Gloger was connected with the rising Lithuanian state. Considering the historical facts and the similarities in the fates of Polish and Lituanian communities (longlasting population mixing resulting from forced and also voluntary migration) Gloger was a defender of the Polish-Lithuanian union. He supported the whole autonomy of the Lithuanian nation (the right to have own culture, language, traditions and folklore) but he remained skeptical about the idea of creating a separate Lithuanian state.
