LTE - mokymas kaip tyrimo objektas yra dažnas ir analizuojamas skirtingų autorių. Šis mokymas dažnai pristatomas labai prieštaringai. Šio straipsnio tikslas yra analizuoti e – mokymą plačiame socialiniame kontekste ir mokymo organizavimo lygmenyje. Taip pat straipsnyje apibūdinamas e - mokymo teorinis pagrindas, aprašomi sunkumai ir problemos, įgyvendinant e – mokymą universitetuose. Pagrindinis teorinis e-mokymo pagrindas yra konstruktyvizmas. Straipsnyje kalbama apie e-mokymo situaciją Vilniaus universitete.

ENE-learning as a study object is frequent and is analysed by numerous authors. E-learning is often presented very controversially. The purpose of this article is to analyse e-learning in a broad social context and at the level of learning organisation. The article also describes theoretical grounds for e-learning and difficulties and problems in implementing e-learning at universities. The main theoretical ground for e-learning is constructivism. The article speaks about the e-learning situation at Vilnius University.
