ENThe paper presents the results of school anxiety the in IV, V, X, XII form pupils’ investigated by Phillips Test. The sample was 400 (50 boys and girls from each form). Three anxiety levels were identified: high, average and low. The low anxiety level predominated. It was found out that the greater part of the pupils were afraid not to justify their friends’ and teachers’ expectations and were worried about their assessment. Especially girls were worried about being tested for knowledge and achievement. Junior form pupils were more concerned about their relationships with peers and the demonstration of their opportunities in public to be compared; girls from these forms had more adaptation difficulties in stress situations. Approximately half of the respondents pointed out their anxiety forming relationship with teachers what consequently affected their academic performance. [From the publication]
