LTDabartinis Lietuvos nacionalinio dramos teatro pastatas baigtas formuoti 1982 metais pagal architektų Algimanto ir Vytauto Nasvyčių projektą. Kitais pavadinimais - kaip Lietuvos valstybinis dramos teatras ar Lietuvos valstybinis akademinis dramos teatras - jis veikė čia nuo 1951 metų. Apie šios vietos ir pastato istoriją iki XX a. antrosios pusės rekonstrukcijos rašo Lietuvos kultūros paveldo departamento vyriausioji specialistė Indrė Baliulytė. ENThe current building of the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre assumed its present form in 1982, designed by the architects Algimantas and Vytautas Nasvytis. The theatre has existed since 1951, but under different names: the Lithuanian Stale Drama Theatre and the Lithuanian State Academic Drama Theatre. During the interwar period, it was used by the Vilnius art society called Lutnia, one of ten organisations founded by the property developer and patron of the arts Juozas Montvila (1850-1911). Indrė Baliulytė, a senior specialist at the Department of the Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, writes about the history of the theatre, and about the building before it was rebuilt in the second half of the 20th century.
