ENThe present article is devoted to dynamics of agrarian landscape of Anykščiai District in the last decades of the Soviet power and during the following years of independence (from 1973 till 2008). Then transformations of agrarian landscape of this region were entailed not only by new technologies and human possibilities but also by different political circumstances, changes of the forms of property and even traditions. The greatest influence was produced by the changes of land management. After the restoration of Lithuania’s independence, agriculture endured great transformations firstly related with the changes of the forms of property. The Soviet collective farms ceased to exist and their lands were ceded back to their former possessors. All these factors contributed to radical transformation of agrarian landscape.
