ENIn this article a geography of crime in Klaipėda city (Lithuania) is being researched. The research of crime data included the periods of 1991, 1996, 2004, and 2010. The data of the research is comprised of data about registered crimes related to spatial attributes of the city (names of streets, numbers of buildings) and 63 territories of Klaipėda city. The data about 11 types of crimes have been used. These types of crimes were distinguished according to the Code of Crime of the Republic of Lithuania. In the research the methods of spatial autocorrelation and hierarchical cluster analysis have been applied. As an outcome of the research, 6 groups of territorial clusters of crimes have been distinguished and a spatial differentiation of their structure has been described. It has been determined, that the biggest concentration of crimes and their variety is characteristic for the urban districts in the southern part of Klaipėda city. A gravity of crime space is moving towards the city centre, where the main services of commercial trade, leisure and business activities along the main streets are concentrated. These processes have an impact on the changes in perception of mental crime maps in Klaipėda city. [From the publication]
