ENThe exclusive table stored in the Lithuanian Art Museum was supposedly produced in the first half of the 19th c. in France. The table is 91 cm high, 77 cm wide and 156 cm long. Tabletop is oval-shaped, decorated with sublime wood species, hardware, ivory decor elements. Table cover is dirty, with scruffs on carvings and thick lacquer coating. During the restoration of the table, it was darkened and in many places partially restored coating of the lacquer. Fragments of missing brass and white metal were restored. The fragment of burned tabletop frame was fixed. Missing edgings of a drawer and worktop were carved of solid walnut wood which is close to the texture of rosewood wood. Missing fragments of carvings were restored. According to the analogues, the lower leg connection was produced; it was carved by geometric patterns found on fragments of the table legs. The central element was shaped and carved of mahogany wood. Restored details were tinted with aqueous mordant. The whole table was covered with a shellac polish. [From the publication]
