ENThe extent of knowledge of Lithuanian language dialects for students from Baltic language centres depends on their level. However, essential material related to dialects should be lectured to everyone. First of all, students’ attention should be drawn to the differences of Lithuanian language dialects and Lithuanian ethnographic regions since dialectal and ethnographic regions do not necessarily coincide. Also, the history of dialects accumulation and classification (A. Šleicheris, F. Kuršaitis, A. Baranauskas, K. Jaunius, A. Salys, A. Girdenis ir Z. Zinkevičius) should be introduced. However, there should be enough distinctive features mentioned when presenting differences of Lithuanian language dialects in order to avoid boredom.
