Žydų frakcija Lietuvos Seimuose, 1920-1927 m.

LTŠioje knygoje aptariamas vienas iš Lietuvos žydų istorijos aspektų - žydų dalyvavimas politiniame Lietuvos valstybės gyvenime. Pagrindinis šio tiriamojo darbo tikslas buvo iš visų Lietuvoje veikusių žydų politinės saviraiškos institucijų išskirti vieną - Seimo Žydų frakciją. Tai buvo darnus įvairių žydų politinių partijų junginys, Lietuvos Seimuose atstovavęs daugiau nei 7 procentams žydų tautybės šalies gyventojų. Apibrėžiant Žydų frakcijos egzistavimo ribas 1920-1927 m. buvo bandoma įvardinti jos narių indėlį į politinį Lietuvos valstybės gyvenimą, išskiriant tam tikrą veiklos pobūdį ir pasisakymų kryptingumą. ENIn the year 1918, having received every civil right available in the newly independent state of Lithuania, the Jewish minority began taking an active part in the political life of the country. Their political diversity performed on several "levels" of activity: through the legislative and executive institutions - in the Seimas (Lithuanian Parliament) and the government; through institutions of local administration - in city and regional authorities; and through public political societies and organizations. This small study is dedicated to one of the institutions of Jewish political self-expression: the Jewish Fraction of the Seimas. It is here attempted to consider the participation of the Jewish minority in the activity of Lithuania's legislative institution, relying largely on previously unpublished archive sources, Lithuanian Parliaments’ minutes and periodicals. Having defined the time boundaries within which the Fraction existed as 1920-1927, it is intended to determine its members’ input into the political life of the state of Lithuania while noting a certain particularity of activity and tendency of statements. The work aims to disclose the ways in which the ever-changing political situation in the country affected the Fraction's accomplishments and its political approach. An endeavour, based on members' of the Jewish Fraction speeches in Lithuania's Parliaments, is made to ascertain whether their activity in the Parliaments was of a vigorous participation quality or of a passive one; and what results did such a representation of the Fraction's members bring.The study discusses Jewish activity in all four democratically elected Lithuanian Parliaments. Jewish minority representatives' participation in inside and outside politics is reviewed as well as their input in the creation of laws regulating state economy and education system. Taking protection of their electors' interests, the main task of the Jewish Fraction members, as the count-off point, the author describes the political activity of this Jewish representative organization in four ways: 1) creational-preservative in the Constituent Seimas; 2) stagnational in the I Seimas; 3).
