LTKnygoje publikuojama Seinų vyskupo Antano Baranausko iniciatyva 1898 m. sudaryta anketa Seinų vyskupijos dvasininkams ir šių parapijų dvasininkų atsakymai į anketos klausimus. Kadangi Seinų vyskupija buvo sudaryta iš dviejų dalių: lenkiškosios ir lietuviškosios, - tai atsakymai gauti iš abiejų vyskupijos dalių parapijų. Atsakymuose pateikti duomenys apie kalbų - lietuvių ar lenkų - vartojimą pridėtinėse pamaldose, bažnyčiose atliekamas liturgines apeigas, giedamas giesmes, kunigų aprangą, procesijas, santuokas, laidotuves, kalėdojimą. EN[...] The book consists of three parts. The first part comprises the article entitled “The Language of Supplementary Service at the Churches of Seinai Diocese in the 19th-early 20th Century” which thoroughly investigates the usage of the Lithuanian and Polish languages in supplementary church service in the mixed parishes of Seinai diocese. Besides, it offers analysis of the position of church hierarchs, attitude of parish clergy and reaction of civil authorities. Parish clergymen’s answers to Bp Antanas Baranauskas’ Questionnaire in the original (Polish) language are presented in the second part of the book whereas their translations to the Lithuanian language make up the third part of the publication. The manuscripts are presented as they are, without expurgation, separately in the Polish language and separately in translation to the Lithuanian language. Some answers are presented in accordance with the Questionnaire items, others - disregarding the items; some answers are presented in solid text, others - in tables. In the publication the texts appear as they are written in the original. The texts are supplemented with two types of explanations in the footnotes - palaeographic and subject. Texts in the Polish language are supplemented with palaeographic comments only whereas texts in the Lithuanian language are supplemented with both - palaeographic and subject explanations, including biographic data on the clergymen and definitions of the most commonly used ecclesiastic terms. In both cases the numeration of footnotes is continuous. The answer sheets were prepared for publication in accordance with the publishing instructions prepared by Polish historians. Orthography of the Polish text was updated agreeable to contemporary rules. Punctuation was preserved as in the original. [From the publication]
