Fotografijos leksika – žodynai žodynėliai ar duomenų bazė?

ENCurrently, the lexis of photography undergoes rapid changes; it is more and more widely used. Specialists and amateurs of photography have long needed a comprehensive specialised dictionary or an original Lithuanian encyclopaedia of photography with all its terms corresponding to the requirements of the normative use. The terms could emerge from an electronic database of the le.xis of photography. The paper sets out to review several sources of the lexis of photography: traditional and electronic dictionaries (general and specialised), Internet sites, the term database and databank, textbooks and teaching aids, specialised periodicals. Having estimated the scope of the lexis of photography in the above sources, two possibilities to set up a database of the above type are discussed: an electronic database of the lexis of photography could be based on a special corpus (1) or a database with its own original structure could be created (2). The latter could be collected from traditional and electronic sources and supplemented afterwards. The second option is discussed in greater detail, focusing on the structure of such database.
