ENThe present volume is a collection of essays on the poetry of Czeslaw Milosz (1911-2004), the 1980 Nobel laureate in literature. The author focuses mainly on one - particularly important for him - book of verse, "Chronicles", published in Paris in 1987. Arguably, it is a watershed in Milosz’s career: grouping together the poet’s major themes so far, it foreshadows his future, "late" works.
