Summary / Abstract:

ENContact improvisation is a postmodern cultural phenomenon and a unique dance form. It is a dance-dialogue, a form of active communication and cooperation, a spontaneous experience of a situation together with other participants. It is valued in terms of contemporary potential to encourage personal self-creation and maturity. Since the essence of personality, maturity and self-creation is based on spirituality, it is important to examine the meaning of contact improvisation both in theory and practice. Research of the origins of contact improvisation shows that its meaning is based on personal experience and relations between the subjects, which occur from the interaction. Such a meaning of its essence reflects the maturity of personality and shows educational potential of this dance form. However, in order to apply contact improvisation in education, it is necessary to have a conception of it as an empirical expression of a person's spirituality, not only as a cultural phenomenon. It is the sphere of education theory and practice. Tims, the selected issues of research and the relevance of the aim are disclosed. The aim is to validate the meaning of contact improvisation: its origins and reality as an empirical expression of spirituality and a factor of personal maturity factor, created by partners. The meaning of contact improvisation is revealed with reference to the interaction between subjects as a dialogue, manifested through the dance practice. Personal meaning is disclosed by investigating personal conception and reflection of contact improvisation, and applying a system of cpistemes (modelling scheme of thinking), concretizing the characteristics of the transformation of meaning and expression.Using this form of dance gives opportunities to adjust the relations between subjects as well as spirituality and role of the educational space created by them through the promotion of maturity of personality. The study found that the concept of personal meaning is deepened in the process (practice) of contact improvisation and its transformation and expression are encouraged by the epistcme (modelling scheme of thinking) system. These are the factors of personal meaning, while the dialogue and reflection of personal meaning are factors of the meaningfulness of contact improvisation. Subjects influenced by them create the spirituality of contact improvisation as a distinctive (sclf-)educational environment. The study confirms that dance practice based on dancing as a unique dialogue changes the relations between subjects and the quality of their consciousness and unfolds personal spirituality. From educational point of view, it is significant that spirituality of (self-)educational environment created by subjects, the meaning of this dance form and its role in promoting personal maturity are consolidated. Therefore, contact improvisation is seen as the reality of spirituality created by subjects and a way to ground education on the spread of spirituality. The entirety of the research deepens the conception of contact improvisation as a contemporary (self-)educational way and spirituality of reality, as well as concretizes the role of the student in terms of education theory and practice of the postmodern culture. It is a matter of relevance to continue research not only in the meaningfulness of contact improvisation, but also in the spirituality of educational reality and possibilities to stimulate personal spiritual maturity in the age of postmodern culture.
