ENThe article examines the sociological researches carried out by the beatific researchers of the Lithuanian Institute of Philosophy and Sociology during the period of 1989-2000. The investigation in this region was started on the eve of Lithuanian independence restoration. The scientists aimed to find out the integration Problems of Visaginas population. For the first time in Lithuania there were investigated the attitudes of Visaginas inhabitants to the influence of NEPS Upon people and environment, economic and social development. In 1993 the research was started in accordance with the State’s program »NEPS and environment“ and lasted up to 1997. It included three stages. First, the evaluation of living environment, ecological and sodai state was done. Second, the work conditions and social psychological atmosphere in the NEPS of Ignalina were surveyed. The investigation into the living and activity conditions of the regional population was carried out at the third stage. [From the publication]
