ENDuring 1747-1751 the Metrica of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (GDL) was transported from Vilnius to Warsaw to the Royal Archive. January 10, 1777 Constant Council (Government of Commonwealth) has decided to begin copying of the Books of the Metrica of the 15-16 Centuries written in Old-Belarusian language. It was the transliteration from the Cyrillic into the Latin font. Copyists have created 29 large Volumes of new copies from 62 oldest Books of the Metrica of the GDL. These copies are saved in the Central Archive of the Ancient Acts in Warsaw (AGAD). The first Book of transliterated copies begins with the emotional and patriotic Foreword. The text hymns of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, in it the concept of a heroic history of this country is represented. The Foreword was written by Antoni Korvin Kasakoūski (Antoni Korwin Kossakowski) which supervised over a copying of the Metrica of the GDL. Analysing the of Kasakoūski family, author comes to the conclusion that such an emotional feeling like patriotism may reduce in treachery. [From the publication]
