ENThe author analyzes a history of an origin and publication of materials of two books of the Metrica - No 566 and No 573. These books consist of the descriptions by the Moscow officials of Polotsk (Polack) region - in 1563-1579 Polotsk was seized by the Russian army. The materials of the descriptions have got in the GDL Chancery after clearing Polotsk and become a component of the GDL Metrica. These materials were published by Russian Geographical Society in 1877. The publication of these materials was not specified in the contemporary reviews of the publications of the Metrica.
