ENStudies of the present religious situation in Eastern Europe based mainly on quantitative surveys show the difference from Western Europe secularization process and detect more contradictory changes here, but only draw inferences on religious past about the post-Soviet situation in different Middle and Eastern European countries. The novelty of this study is to analyze how former social experiences have influenced social life of active believers, formal believers and religious indifferent in Lithuania during the Soviet regime and after it. Special interest is oriented towards possibly to define different types of Catholics, especially among those who can be named formal or "religious feast" Catholics and often are vague religious.
