ENThe Prussian place names of anthroponymic origin were discussed in Colloquium Pruthenicum secundum. Attention was paid to the fact, that all the Prussian place names are divided into two groups: place names, which derive from personal names and those, which derive from appellatives. Sometimes it is very difficult to distinguish whether they are based on a personal name or an appellative. The article deals with Sambian deappellative village names. First, appellatives which became the source of place names not through derivation are discussed. Then suffixed and prefixed derivatives from appellatives (nouns, adjectives) are studied. Some village names can be derived from verbs. The lexemes and suffixes, which are used to form village names, are given in the article. A lexeme and village names are given to each suffix or prefix, mentioning the first written variant and germanized form. [From the publication]
