Summary / Abstract:

Pedagogai kasdien patiria intensyvų socialinį kontaktą su didelėmis jaunų žmonių grupėmis, be to, nuolat susiduria su švietimo reformų, nuolatinio mokymosi, kartų skirtumo, kintančių bendravimo normų lemiamais iššūkiais. Straipsnyje pristatomas tyrimas, atskleidžiantis, pedagogų profesinį perdegimą kaip sisteminį reiškinį, skirtingai pasireiškiantį įvairiais pedagogų karjeros etapais. ENThe burnout syndrome – is the state of emotional, mental and physical exhaustion, which has formed due to long-term unsolved stress emerging in work situations. The burnout syndrome is characteristic for representatives of professions whose work is related to intensive, long-term communication. Lately psychological aspects of pedagogues’ work became relevant for researchers, researches on stress enlarged in number and evident outspread of professional burnout syndrome has been observed. Theories of career development emphasize dynamics of social roles and the necessity to coordinate them in one’s career path. The risk of professional burnout particularly increases in those stages of career development when a person has to perform a lot of equally-significant and energy-intensive social roles (an employee, father/mother, a child of own parents and so on). In this context the following research questions emerge: how professional burnout manifests at different stages of pedagogue’s career? What ways of its prevention and overcoming are possible in complex evaluating development of pedagogue’s career and life? The research aim – is to disclose peculiarities of professional burnout in the context of development of preschool pedagogues’ career. Preschool education pedagogues make the part of pedagogues’ community, which is influenced by country’s education problems at macro level, as well as peculiar problems of organizational level. Researches on professional burnout purposefully oriented to preschool education pedagogues, particularity of their profession are missing. Professional burnout comprises three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal achievements. Emotional exhaustion manifests as sense of exhaustion and fatigue, lack of energy as well as great reduction of person’s emotional resources.Depersonalization – is emotional retreat, cynicism, creation of distance against others when relations with people become formal, impersonal.
