ENMore and more objects that had not been characteristic of the programmatic music of the 19th-20thh century appear in the titles of titles of works by Lithuanian composers in the last decade of the 20,h century. They are to be named as technical (R. Mažulis' "Chattering Machine", G. Kuprevičius' "Memories of the Personal Computer", S. Nakas' "Merz-Machine" and "Vox- Machine"), everyday-life (R. Merkelis' "Aquarium", N. Vūlančiūtė's "Mirror", B. Kutavičius' "Sand Clock"), cult instruments (J. Juozapaitis' "Hill of Crosses", S. Nakas' "Saint Pole", B, Kutavičius' "Celtic Cross" in "Fight of Trees"), those belonging to the ethnic culture heritage (A. Bružas' "Spinning Wheel"and "Water-mill"), historical mythological ones ($. Nakas' "Crown", J. Juozapaitis' "Holy Forests", V. V. Jurgutis' "Papyrus"), and musical instruments as "cultural cļuotations" (a bell in B. Kutavičius' quartet "A Year with a Grasshopper", G. Kuprevičius' "Lonely Bells", J. Juozapaitis' "Celesta"), with allusions to other kinds of arts (U. Giedraitytė' "Panneau", J. Juozapaitis' "Towers", "Aquarelles of Nida"). The meaning of the objects has been very important and decides the shape of the new style of programmatic music, A conciuson can be drawn that the emerging of the names of objects in the titles of musical pieces is related not only to the new technical possibilities of musical creation (e.g. electronic studios, computer programmes) but also it witnesses the appearance of a new postmodern style and its corroboration into the music. Objects in the postmodern world acquire more important meaning not only in the everyday life but they are changing the traditional und.
