We are inclined to stress the roots of our state, for e.g. our resistance to the ban on press, we all know something about our glorious past like Žalgiris battle, etc. But activities of Kazys Grinius show a more important, social aspect: independent Lithuania was not a product of some Romanticists but a conscious creation of hard-working individuals like medical doctor and politician Kazys Grinius.
