LTPaskutiniųjų dvidešimties metų tyrimai, skirti senojo Kijevo miesto herbo evoliucijos analizei, į mokslinę apyvartą įtraukė naujus šaltinius, atsakė į daugelį diskusijas kėlusių klausimų ir ištaisė dalį ankstesnių klaidingų nuomonių. Kompleksiškai analizuojant heraldikos, sfragistikos ir veksilologijos duomenis pavyko rekonstruoti miesto simbolio atsiradimo, formavimosi bei raidos aplinkybes. Tačiau liko ir neatsakytų klausimų. Dėl šaltinių trūkumo kol kas neaišku, kada pirmą kartą pasirodė Kijevo herbas ir dėl kokių priežasčių jis vėliau kito. Antspaudų tyrimai rodo, kad XVI-XVII a. Kijevo savivaldos atstovai galėjo naudotis keletu spaudų, kurių atspaudai iki šiol nėra žinomi. Tad būtini tolesni archyvų, bibliotekų ir muziejų rinkinių tyrimai tiek Ukrainoje, tiek kituose kraštuose. Tai leistų užpildyti senojo Kijevo simbolio istorijos spragas bei padėtų spręsti šiuolaikinio Ukrainos sostinės herbo problemą. [Iš leidinio]

ENThe investigations carried out during the past twenty years, which analyse the evolution of the old coat of arms of the town of Kyiv included new sources into a scientific turnover, gave an answer to many issues that raised discussions and corrected a part of wrong opinions that prevailed until the present time. When analysing the date of heraldry, sphragistics and vexillolgy in a complex way it was possible to reconstruct the circumstances of the origin, formation and development of the symbol of the town. However, some questions remained unanswered. Due to a lack of sources it has not been clear thus far when the sign of Kyiv appeared for the first time and for what reasons it changed later. Studies of the seals show that representatives of Kyiv self-governance in the 16th-17th century could make use of several seal matrixes whose seal impressions have been unknown up to now. Therefore further investigations into the collections of archives, libraries and museums both in Ukraine and in other countries are necessary. This would allow filling in gaps in the history of the old coat of arms of Kyiv and would help us solve the problem of the present day coat of arms of the capital of Ukraine. [From the publication]
